What is SWF?
WELCOME TO SILVER WINGS FRATERNITY! If you have a genuine interest in aviation and are over the age of 16, you are eligible to join. We have no political agenda and are open to everyone regardless of race, creed, color or national origin. We enjoy both hangar flying and actual flying, and we encourage young people to consider aviation as a career choice.
If you soloed a powered aircraft more than 25 years ago, you can become an Active Member. Under our new Associate Member category, younger pilots, student pilots, aerospace teachers, air traffic controllers, aviation historians, and others with a genuine interest in Aviation are also enjoying their membership.
We were initially incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1958. Russell Brinkley and several other veteran pilots saw the need for a Fraternal and Charitable Non-Profit Organ-
ization of men and women who live and fly worldwide, whether active or retired.
Silver Wings Fraternity has over 2,000 active members throughout the world, and almost half belong to active Chapters in several cities across the United States. Membership covers the gamut from active fliers to those who retired from aviation years ago. All phases of aviation are represented: the Airline industry, Military aviators and all facets of General Aviation.
Our membership includes combat fliers who are Heroes of World War II to the present, Aviation Hall of Fame laureates, ladies of the famous 99’s, and those ladies who were WASP’s during World War II. Pilots who flew for the airlines, and those who flew commercially in General Aviation are also members. Just as important, General Aviation pilots of all ratings who only fly or flew for pleasure and the enjoyment of flight are also valued members. Some of our members are building or have built their own airplanes.
You will enjoy becoming a Silver Wings Fraternity member - meeting old friends, making new ones - all speaking the same language of flight and experiencing the great adventure of flight itself.

On behalf of the National Board of Directors of the Silver Wings Fraternity, I welcome members and visitors to our website, and I thank you for your interest in our organization. I invite you to explore our site to learn more about our Fraternity.
Our organization is dedicated to all things aviation, and we have a lot of fun along the way. We have something to offer pilots and aviation enthusiasts of any age and any skill level. We are also dedicated to getting young people started in aviation through our Aviation Scholarship Program.
If you are interested in hanging out with aviators, then you will fit right in. I invite you to click on the Downloads tab and select National Membership Application. Just fill it out and mail it in.
Click on the Chapters/Meetings link to find a Silver Wings Fraternity chapter that meets near you. Start making your plans to attend our 2012 Annual Convention/ Reunion next October. Information on dates, location and events will be available soon.
Finally, visit us at our Cottage on Clubhouse Row in the middle of the Sun n’ Fun campus next Spring. We look forward to meeting you.
