PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

    A New Year brings memories of the past and opportunities for the future. Our Silver Wings Fraternity offers both. A chance to renew old acquaintances and meet new friends. It is not too early to mark your calendar for the 34th Annual Sun’n Fun fly-In, April 8-13 in Lakeland Florida . Not only will you see a spectacular Air show, including the Thunderbirds, but also an opportunity to associate with other Silver Wingers at our Clubhouse on club house row. Our Gulf Coast Chapter members will be on duty to welcome you and sign-up new members.

    This year the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron (Thunderbirds) will maintain a static display the entire week and perform shows Saturday and Sunday.

    Your next opportunity will be to attend our 2008 Silver Wing Convention October 2-5 in Denver Colorado .  This year we will again join with the Powder Puff Derby members to make this another memorable occasion. Our Denver Chapter Convention Chairman, Harry Blout advised me that this would be a Red Carpet Event. A first rate hotel has been selected with favorable rates. Exciting Tours and events have been planned including the Denver United States Mint, Wings over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, Adam Aircraft Industries (Manufacturer of the New A500 and A700 Aircraft), and the multi-million dollar new addition to the Denver Art Museum. Convention details and registration forms will be published in the next issue of our newsletter “SLIPSTREAM.”
